# Search for combination products

Combination products contain more than one active ingredient.

To search for a specific combination:

1. Click in the search bar.
2. Enter the combination by entering the active ingredients either separated by semicolon or space in between.
3. Select the combination from the suggestions.

The results will include reports for that specific combination product.

#### Search for all products containing a specific active ingredient

To identify reports involving a specific active ingredient in both single-substance and combination products, use the method below. VigiLyze does not have a “contains search” for active ingredients, so combination products must be selected individually.

{% hint style="info" %}
The search bar displays a maximum of 20 matching active ingredient combinations. If more than 20 combinations exist, contact VigiBase Search Services for assistance.
{% endhint %}

For active ingredients with a smaller number of combinations (fewer than 20), use this approach:

1. Search for and select the **active ingredient**.
2. Search for **active ingredient;** and select the relevant combinations.
3. Search for **;active ingredient** and select the relevant combinations.

Both steps 2 and 3 are needed, as active ingredients in combination products are listed alphabetically.

#### Example

The following example uses methylphenidate. The same approach applies to any active ingredient.

1\.       Select *methylphenidate (active ingredient)*.

2\. Search for *methylphenidate;* and select the relevant combinations.

3\. Search for *;methylphenidate* and select the relevant combinations.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://support.who-umc.org/vigilyze/searching-and-filtering/search-for-combination-products.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
