Disproportionality for Active Ingredient variants

Disproportionality analyses can be performed using active ingredient variants instead of active ingredients.

This allows more detailed analyses of products that share a common active ingredient but differ at the variant level.

To analyse active ingredient variants:

  1. Search for the required active ingredient variant.

  2. Add the reaction of interest.

  3. Open the “Disproportionality” tab.

The displayed calculations are based on the selected variant rather than the broader active ingredient.

When should I use active ingredient variants?

Variant-level analysis may be useful when reviewing:

  • Specific vaccine variants

  • Different forms of the same active ingredient
